Hello, I'm
A project manager who has actually run the systems he now plans.
Ten years keeping infrastructure alive, now leading delivery at a software company working across Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Google and PMI certified. Agile where it fits, Waterfall where it doesn't.

I learned delivery from underneath.
I spent ten years keeping other people's systems running before I started running the projects that build them. Windows Server, Active Directory, networks, virtualisation, backup and recovery — across an ISP, a hotel operating around the clock, and a recruitment firm with more than eighty branches depending on a network I owned.
That is the reason I am a different kind of project manager. When an engineer tells me why a sprint is slipping, I already understand the problem. I can tell the difference between a hard technical constraint and a preference, which makes estimates more honest and review cycles considerably shorter.
Today I lead the Technology and Information department at MolTaqa, a software company working across Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and I serve as Associate Project Manager on its delivery team. I have taken four production products from scope to launch: a marketplace platform with live auctions and in-app messaging, a cybersecurity firm, a specialist medical group, and a real estate and contracting group.
I am Google and PMI certified, and I work in Agile, Scrum or Waterfall depending on what the project actually needs rather than what is fashionable. What I care about most is the unglamorous part — clear scope, honest status, and stakeholders who are never surprised.

How I work
Scope before speed
A project that ships the wrong thing on time has still failed. I spend the effort at initiation so that execution can stay boring.
Status without spin
Stakeholders can handle bad news. What they cannot handle is finding out late. Red is a colour I am willing to use.
Method follows problem
Scrum for discovery, Waterfall for fixed-scope and regulated work, Kanban for operations. The framework serves the project, never the reverse.
Technical enough to argue
I can read the architecture, question the estimate and understand the blocker. That keeps the plan connected to reality.
The board, in columns
Delivery and leadership are the job now. Systems and networking are why the delivery estimates are believable.
The things people ask first
Is Youssef Alfadaly a certified project manager?
Yes. He holds the Google Project Management Professional Certificate, Professional Scrum Product Owner Fundamentals from Scrum.org, and Google Agile Essentials, alongside six Project Management Institute badges covering predictive project management, agile project management and generative AI for project managers. All twenty-seven credentials are publicly verifiable through Coursera and Credly, and every one is linked on this site.
What project management methodologies does he use?
Agile and Scrum for discovery and product work, Waterfall for fixed-scope and regulated delivery, and Kanban for operational and support workflows. The framework is chosen per project based on how much uncertainty it carries, rather than applied by default.
Where is he based, and does he work remotely?
Mansoura and Cairo, Egypt. He currently delivers projects for clients across Egypt and Saudi Arabia and works on-site, hybrid and fully remote depending on the engagement.
What makes a project manager with an IT background different?
Ten years administering Windows Server, Active Directory, networks, virtualisation and backup systems means technical estimates and blockers can be assessed directly rather than relayed. It shortens review cycles, makes escalation more accurate, and makes it possible to tell a genuine constraint from a preference.
What kind of projects has he delivered?
Four production web products as Associate Project Manager: a multi-vendor marketplace with live auctions and in-app messaging, a managed cybersecurity services platform, a specialist medical clinic group and a real estate and contracting group — delivered across Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Does he work in both Arabic and English?
Yes. Arabic is his native language and he works in English professionally. That is what allows him to run stakeholder communication directly for Arabic-first clients in Egypt and the Gulf without a translation layer between the client and the delivery team.
Notes on running projects
Practical pieces on delivery — written from the position of someone who has to make the plan survive contact with an engineering team.
- 01Why the Gantt chart survived AgileAgile was supposed to kill the Gantt chart. Thirty years later it is still on every executive's screen — because it answers a question no burndown chart can.Planning7 min read14 August 2026
- 02The status report nobody readsIf your weekly update is a list of what happened, you have written a diary, not a status report. Here is what stakeholders actually need in it.Communication6 min read2 August 2026
- 03Agile or Waterfall: a decision, not a religionThe methodology argument is usually a proxy for an unexamined question about uncertainty. Answer that one and the framework picks itself.Methodology8 min read19 July 2026
- 04A risk register people actually useMost risk registers are written once, filed, and never opened again. A register earns its place only if it changes a decision.Risk6 min read5 July 2026
- 05What a technical background actually buys a project managerIt is not the ability to write code. It is the ability to tell a hard constraint from a preference — and to know when an estimate is a guess wearing a suit.Craft7 min read21 June 2026
- 06Scope creep doesn't start in executionBy the time you are arguing about a change request, the mistake is already months old. Scope creep is an initiation failure that shows up late.Scope6 min read7 June 2026
